Newcastle University UK established an international branch campus in Johor, Malaysia, in 2011. NUMed Malaysia provides undergraduate degrees in medicine (MBBS) and biomedical sciences (BSc). There are also opportunities for foundation and postgraduate study.

Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus is the international branch campus of Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne, Australia. Xiamen University Malaysia (XMUM) is the first overseas campus set up by a renowned Chinese university and the first Chinese university branch campus in Malaysia.
